  • I think everyone has that one person that they always go back to; that one person that you will always have a place in your heart for; that one person that you can never escape from.
This is different than just loving someone forever. This kind of relationship just keeps haunting you, it keeps creeping up and catching you off guard and no matter how many times you end it, break up, move out, fight with, lie to, cheat on, cheat with, move on, move away...he or she always ends up back in your life.
Everyone knows they have this person. You know, that one ex that you always think about right before you fall asleep, the person you sneak texts to while laying back to back with your current significant other, the person you constantly blog about, rant about to your friends online, in person, all of the time. The person you wonder about, try to figure out. And every time, they get the best of you and you get back with them, they take up all of your time.
And then all hell breaks loose and you both realize why this doesn't work. You're alone again. You find someone else. You're happy. Everything is fine.
And then he's there. Via text, via instant message, message in general, personal visit... He's right back in your life.
It's that weird epic love that depicted in those sappy romantic novels, the ones that sit in a dustless pile by the side of my bed. It's those books that I hate to love.
Because I hate that kind of story. It's too tragic and those relationships never end happy: the two always part ways, hearts broken and jaded. It's a lot to handle in reality and in print.
Sometimes I really wish I could avoid that kind of story. "I want to be in love. I want to wake up next to someone and see them smile, do the whole Sunday breakfast thing, go out and get the paper, stay in bed together all day." That's what I want my story to be. Wouldn't you?
